Alvaro Morata, fresh off leading Spain to Euro 2024 glory, appears set to depart Atletico Madrid for a new challenge with AC Milan. The 31-year-old striker who ran La Roja to victory over England in the final has been linked with a move to Serie A Colossi Milan for several weeks, and reports suggest the transfer is nearing completion.

Morata’s future at Atletico has been pending for some time. Despite flashes of brains, his time in the Spanish capital hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
With a reported €13 million release clause for clubs outside of Spain, Milan dived in to secure his services.

According to Italian media outlets Morata is expected to undergo a medical in Madrid on Tuesday, following Spain’s post-tournament celebrations. Reports indicate he has agreed to a four-year warrant worth €5.5 million per season.

Milan boss Paulo Fonseca is believed to be a big admirer of Morata’s alvaro experience and versatility. The Spaniard’s ability to link up with teammates and his knack for scoring important goals could be a valuable asset for the Rossoneri as they look to challenge for the Scudetto title.
